Boyle the Builder 路 Dundee
An ops and transformation leader who actually builds.
I'm Christine Boyle, AKA Boyle the Builder. 馃
Welcome to my site! Scroll down to have a gander at some of my favourite builds. The intention is to inspire anyone who's trying to get hands-on with building with AI or no-code tools themselves. We all have to start somewhere, so get creative and start something today.
What I do
Three threads run through everything on this site: leading operations, building systems, and teaching other people to build their own.
Lead the engine room
20+ years across operations, supply chain and product: co-owning a print and finishing business, running global supply chains, building a product function from scratch. My home turf is the messy, undefined problem that needs turning into a system that works.
Build working systems
Databases, automations, and apps built with AI and no-code tools: real things that run in production and earn their keep. I set aside part of my time to help founders and good causes (charities, CICs, community organisations) make their ops more efficient, free, because I want to help. If that's you and you could use a hand, get in touch.
Teach your team
Available for speaking engagements and workshops: talks, jargon-free training sessions, and hands-on buildathons where everyone leaves with a working app on their own phone. I've taught 100+ people to build their own tools, including plenty who turned up insisting they weren't technical. Teams, communities, or a room full of individuals, all welcome.
Selected work
A few things I've built. The thread through all of them: a real problem turned into a working system. Scroll along for the lot.

Weather-aware hiking finder
An automation juggling four APIs to find the best weather within your radius, then the best hikes near it, delivered to your inbox. Built to teach at the global OpenStreetMap conference, because a simple demo would have been too easy.
TV Calendar Tracker
Search any show, see only the episodes still to come, and add them to your calendar at a civilised reminder time rather than 1am. Built with AI and shipped in a deeply tasteful vibe-coded purple, obviously.

Universal Add Events QR code app
Turns any event into a QR code that drops straight into Apple, Google or Outlook calendars, no manual typing. An installable little app that solved one specific annoyance and then stayed solved.

Buildathon charades app
An AI party game built as a teaching tool: by the end of the session everyone walks out with a working app on their own phone. Taught to 100+ people, many of whom didn't think they could.

PomoChamp
A Pomodoro timer disguised as a 16-bit fighting game, because a plain countdown is torture for an ADHD brain. Pick a fighter, batch your tasks into rounds, and watch them brawl while you work. A hackathon entry, shipped to deadline.

Scottish grants & events aggregator
A central database of 122 open grants for Scottish founders, plus an events aggregator pulling from sources nobody has time to check. Built so founders stop missing money that was sitting there the whole time. Featured as a founder story in the Techscaler Annual Report 2025.

Grant reporting tracker
A relational database that ties every receipt to a grant milestone and budget category, reconciles it to a real statement, and shows over and under-spend live. It cut my monthly grant reporting from 16 to 24 hours to under 4.

Weekly events digest, automated
An Airtable database and automation that compiled the week's ecosystem events into a ready-to-post digest, every single week, without anyone copy-pasting like it's 2009. Dozens of editions shipped on autopilot.

A self-maintaining knowledge system
The system I run my life and work on: an AI-maintained knowledge base with a written operating contract, a relational database of facts, and scheduled agents that keep it all current. Born from a failed agent experiment and better for it.

Dave, the agent that failed
An always-on personal agent on his own machine, with access to email, calendar and Telegram. Forty pounds of credits vanished in days while Dave still knew too little to make a single useful call. Decommissioned, diagnosed honestly, and turned into the design principle behind the knowledge system.

This very website
The site you are reading, designed and built end-to-end with Claude: brand system, carousel, case pages and all, iterated in live review sessions from a chat window. The eleventh build is the shop itself.

About
I've spent 20+ years in operations, supply chain, and product, from co-owning a print and finishing business to running global supply chains and building a product function from scratch. I see all the moving parts, and I'm at my happiest parachuted into a messy, undefined problem and quietly turning it into something that works.
Most recently I founded Dundee Founders Collective, a community-first programme for early-stage founders, backed by the Scottish Government. Over nine months it ran 35 events and got itself named by Sifted as one of the 50 best first-time founder communities in Europe, which was a nice surprise.
These days I build with AI in the open and help other people and businesses do the same: practically, cheerfully, and without the hype.
Before any of this I was a competitive Brazilian jiu-jitsu athlete in Canada with a run of gold medals, a strength and conditioning coach to Olympic-level athletes, and an independent band promoter. Different arenas, same habit: pick something hard, work out how it runs, compete properly. Off the clock it's hillwalking, quilting, and a dog called Blue.
Let's talk
Want a talk or workshop for your event or team? A founder or good cause that could use a hand with your ops? Or just want to talk shop? Send me an email and tell me what you're working on.
